Husband and wife who share a passion for flowers, Italy, and Mexico.
When we moved to London, we were looking for a job that would allow us to take advantage of our art studies while also having fun.
The answer was right in front of us: FLOWERS. And I say right in front of us, because what's more inspiring than English gardens, where you can enjoy the changing seasons and the bounty they bring year-round? From the daffodils almost at the end of winter, to the cherry trees that herald spring, to the wonderful hydrangeas, the dahlias that fill the city with a summery feel with their vibrant colours, the trees that turn orange, gold, and brown during the fall, and, of course, the winter berries.
So, becoming florists was a natural fit; however, we wanted something new; we knew the wild and elegant style. But we wanted something different: colourful, fun, unique, architectural, structural, and a little risky. So we balanced several styles, some bolder, modern, or even more chic, but always trying to add a special touch, something that would distinguish us from the rest, an element of surprise, and with the desire to create something very special.
Our floral studio was born after several years of practicing with leading florists in Central London. Their elegant and classic style made us feel like we didn't fit in and inspired us to want something more. So we decided to take it to the next level and focus on floral design, inspired by art, especially sculpture and painting, placing great importance on our structural style and a high value on colour palettes (almost an obsession).
We started our business just before the pandemic, in our small studio in Crouch End, and thanks to all your love and support, we grew and soon had to move to a larger space. It was lightning fast!
At first, we focused on creating the most striking and colorful collection of bouquets, offering a wide variety of options and styles inspired by Mexican colours but with an Italian aesthetic, it was great! But Bimba has evolved over time, so now we focus on events, specializing in weddings. We are so happy every time someone chooses our flowers to be part of one of the best days of their life. It means so much to us 😍❤
Over time, everything has changed, and we were on the verge of dedicating ourselves exclusively to events and large projects, but knowing that there is no more wonderful way to express love than with flowers, we decided to keep our daily deliveries with our personalized bouquet alive and return to our roots, creating a small collection of bouquets to celebrate each season and the reason we started dreaming of Bimba in the wonderful London gardens.
By the way, BIMBA means girl, and it was common for us to call each other that way among friends during my years at the University of Florence (-Nini), but for me and Simone, the meaning was stronger than a simple "Hello, girl!" It was more the naive feeling of a bimba, when everything is new, when you're trying something for the first time. For me, the clearest example of that feeling is simple: that moment when you visit a city for the first time, seeing everything through fresh eyes, living in the present, and enjoying life. That's what bimba means to us: a way of living life, with sweetness and freedom.
All the love in the world,
Nini x
